Rafa Nadal is back with a bang. Not long ago people were saying he was done, gone and would rarely be able to compete at the highest level again let alone grand slam finals.
But he defied the odds just like his good friend and arch rival Roger Federer and came back strong as ever reaching the final of the Australian Open and playing better than average in other tournaments after that, now is again at the top of the mountain as the clay court season begins winning another Monte Carlo tournament and now has 10 titles to his name.
Nadal is of the opinion that suffering is an essential part in order to claim clay court success. After winning in Monte Carlos he now is playing in the Barcelona Open and just defeated Kevin Anderson in a one sided match earning him a 50th career win at the open. Nadal now will face the Korean sensation Chung in a quarterfinal type match, Chung looks in good form by beating Alexander Zverev in a 6-4, 6-1 match.
Nadal was in fine form against the South African beating him convincingly, putting the ball in awkward positions and showing his brute force, something vintage Nadal would do. He used topspin, and played the drop short effectively. He served well too and crunched a forehand winner closing the 30 minute plus opening set, we can safely say his serve has improved and will be awesome to watch at the French Open.
Anderson tried to attack the net but was no match for Nadal’s forehand, such power and force displayed by the former champ. Nadal stuck to his game plan and had an answer to all what Anderson through at him, playing the slider and varying his spin and speed to counter the gigantic Anderson.
Rafa Nadal can be safely said as the best player to ever grace the clay court just falling short to Roger or I believe we can say standing toe to toe with the GOAT something very less players could do in their career.
Whenever we will talk of Roger Federer we will mention Rafa Nadal as well. The clay tennis court is quite different and so players then have to change their game accordingly. For more information related to tennis check out our blog site or visit our tennis court contractor.
